Pay transparency law
A law that requires employers to disclose pay information, most often a pay range in job postings.
Pay transparency laws require employers to share pay information with candidates or employees. In the US the most common form requires a pay range in job postings; others require disclosure on request, at interview, or at offer.
Requirements vary by state and city: which employers are covered (often by headcount), what counts as a compliant range, whether benefits must be described, and how penalties work.
