Privacy policy

The short version: we collect as little as the product needs, we don’t sell data, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.

What we collect

  • Job postings you check.Text or a URL you submit to the validator is sent to our language-model provider to read the posting, then checked against our rules. For visitors who aren’t signed in, we don’t store the posting or the result. For signed-in accounts we keep the result (the posting’s URL and title, the states checked and the findings) so it appears in your history.
  • Email addresses you give us when you ask for a report by email, sign up for law-change alerts, or create an account. Alerts are double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm, and every alert has a one-click unsubscribe.
  • Account details: name, email, company headcount you enter, the job boards you ask us to monitor, and team members you invite.
  • Billing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Usage data.We count page views and product events (for example, “ran a check”) with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. Two first-party cookies remember how you first found us and the last button you clicked, so we can tell which pages lead to sign-ups; they expire after 90 days. A third holds a random visitor ID for up to a year, so that when we test two versions of a page you keep seeing the same one. We also use the Google Ads and LinkedIn Insight tags to measure our advertising; those services may set their own cookies.

How we use it

To run the checks you ask for, send the emails you request, operate your account and billing, tell you about changes to the laws you follow, and understand which parts of the site are useful. We don’t sell personal information or share it for others’ marketing. If you ask for a report by email, we send that report and nothing else unless you also opt in to alerts or create an account.

Who processes it for us

Vercel (hosting and analytics), Neon (database and sign-in), Anthropic (reading job postings), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and Google and LinkedIn (ad measurement). Each processes data only to provide its service to us.

Keeping and deleting data

Account data is kept while your account is open. Email us at compliance@paytransparency.app to get a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted, including report requests and alert subscriptions. You can unsubscribe from alerts with the link in any alert.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and the date above. See also our terms of service.
